Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Denison family! What a busy and amazing few days for us! Our Christmas always starts on December 23 with Christmas with the extended Huster family. It was an enjoyable evening with the traditional sausage dinner and then on to reading a letter from Santa, who unfortunately couldn’t make it in person this year. Maybe next year? Anyway, Savannah sat with all her cousins and anxiously awaited the presents from Santa and Great Grandma. Savannah scored big with new jammies and the highlight of a tea set! She wore herself out playing tea party all day on Christmas Eve with mommy while Daddy had to work. Then Christmas Eve night we headed to the extended Wehmeyer family Christmas at Great Grandma Wehmeyer’s. Savannah had another GREAT time and we always look forward to the best meal of the year, topped off with the amazing dish pan cookies. Then again it was on to present time and Savannah enjoyed her first candy cane. It ended up being a sticky mess, but it’s Christmas, so she didn’t care too much. Surprisingly she had no problem sitting on her cousin Kyle’s lap to enjoy the treat and didn’t get too much on him either! Then it was time to go to sleep to prepare for the big mans arrival. Christmas morning Savannah actually slept in a little bit, but woke up and was surprised to find that Santa brought her all kinds of GREAT stuff. The highlight was most definitely the new kitchen set and the goodies that came with it. She played and played and was not happy when we had to eat breakfast to make it to church. Needless to say, church was a bit of a stretch this year in that Savannah was quite the tired girl and couldn’t understand why we had to sit there for that length of time. But she did get the hang of the reason why were there and said “Happy Birthday Jesus” a few times! Then we went home and relaxed. Savannah took a short nap and then Rae and Charlene came over and Savannah got to show off her kitchen set and enjoyed opening some more great gifts. She is quite the pro and it and makes her mommy so proud! Then another visitor, Allan came over and Savannah got to open some more books and a Care Bear, which she absolutely loves! It was an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon after the business of the days prior. After dinner, Savannah’s friend Elliot came over with his parent’s Sean and Jen. The two of them are only about four months apart in age and they had a ball! We even got to capture a kiss by the tree! Jen arrived and then it was time for the traditional viewing of Charlie Brown Christmas and we all enjoyed dancing along with the characters. Savannah stayed up pretty late once again, but she had soo much fun with all that went on the past few days. Now we have one more Christmas to go to this afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa Huster’s with the cousins and aunts and uncles. We are looking forward to another enjoyable time with family. We sincerely hope that everyone else had a great holiday and will have an amazing 2009!

Overalls, the Fireplace, Friends and Peek a Boo!

What a week it’s been, AGAIN!! Savannah has been quite the busy little girl! The first weekend of January Daddy and Grandma Huster were very busy painting the downstairs room to make into a play room for the little princess. While Grandma was here, she brought over some overalls that were Grandpa Huster’s from when he was a baby….that’s at LEAST thirty some years ago! Savannah loved wearing them and having her picture taken in them. Savannah is soo excited to have that play room all ready for all her toys and mommy can’t wait until she is old enough to play by herself down there! She has also decided to become a little daredevil even more so than usual. She likes to climb up on her toys onto the fireplace. It was cute the first time, so we took a picture, now we are waiting for the stitches to happen! And then on to last weekend, when Sean, Jen, Elliot and the other Jen came for a visit. Savannah had a GREAT time playing with her friend, who is only a few months older than she is. They stopped for a few seconds to pose for a picture on Cameron’s lap in between getting into everything. Savannah is thinking about walking like her friend and is getting braver by the minute, but still a little nervous about standing on her own. Then this past Monday, Savannah’s friend Maddy came over to spend the day with mommy and Savannah. The two girls had a great time playing together and taking some long naps! Of course, the picture we have here is the two of them watching some Baby Einstein and they were both enthralled, until the camera came out and then Savannah had to flash her big smile before turning back to the TV to become sucked into the video. And lastly, Savannah’s new game seems to be taking the towels off the oven and playing peek a boo, whether with herself or others. She is always one to amuse herself somehow! Now we are into another weekend, we had dinner at Culpepper’s tonight and the bartender’s can’t wait to fill in for a night in twenty years to serve Savannah her first beer. (because it would be just sad if they were still working there at that time!) Although, she might want to tackle the whole walking thing before she starts drinking! Hope everyone stays extra warm this weekend! It is going to be the coldest weekend of the year so far!!
