Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Linda, Savannah and I had a really nice Thanksgiving over at my cousin Bob & Barbara’s home. Or as Savannah says it “Bobby home, this Bobby home Daddy”. The triplets are cute as buttons. Max is doing really well after his surgery. They each have their own little personalities. Claire has the cutest little round face. She reminds Linda and I of Addison (another friend’s little girl). Max is strong and likes being vertical. Charlie is the trouble maker. Well, not really, but he wants to be mobile. He scoots and rocks and tries to get to where he wants. Of course I don’t want to forget about Bobby. He and Savannah played together and he was kind enough to share his toys with Savannah. While they were playing the Vogels were busy cooking and preparing a huge Thanksgiving feast for all of us. Barbra and Bob made 2 turkeys that were just perfect. Then there was all the trimmings. Green bean casserole, corn, carrots, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, mashed potatoes, cranberries, corn casserole, rolls and I’m sure I’m missing something. I really didn’t need a second plate, but it’s Thanksgiving and you are supposed to be miserable after dinner. After dinner we played “Apples to Apples” which sounded a bit strange, but turned out to be a lot of fun. Then it was time for pie. Mmmmmmmmmmmm… pie. Linda made 3 pies for our dessert. One chocolate, one apple and you can’t leave out an old fashioned pumpkin pie. Cindy also brought over an organic pumpkin pie. I had to have one piece of each, and then I was miserable again. Linda and I wanted to send a thank you out to Bob and Barbara for hosting the Thanksgiving Day feast and having us all over. We truly enjoyed it. The only family members missing were Chuck and Shelli’s gang. Hopefully we can get together with them soon too! Tonight we’re going over to the Stille’s for Great-Grandma Wehmeyer’s 89th birthday.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, and a happy Thanksgiving it was. Linda, Savannah, my Mom and I went over to Barbara, Bobby and Bob’s home for our family Thanksgiving dinner. It was really good. Barbara made so much food, and everyone brought so many sides, it just never stopped. We did one turkey in the oven, the traditional way and then we deep fried one. And yes, I was a little stupid and did not get enough oil. So, if you are ever in the need of cooking oil, Convenient Food Mart sells little bottles of cooking oil. All of it was super good. Even Savannah couldn’t quit eating. She was almost eating as much as my cousin Steve. Eddie and Brian spent the evening pushing Bobby and/or Savannah around on a little front end loader. They make great motors. I think all were worn out by the end of the evening. Savannah didn’t make it far on the way home before she was out. It was a great Thanksgiving. Thanks to Bob and Barbara for having all of us over and good luck to John in tomorrow’s game. He plays for Mehlville and is in the Missouri State Championship game tomorrow night (FSN at 6:30).

Happy Birthday Bobby II

Bobby II turned one today. His parents had all the families over to their house for a huge meal and cake and ice cream. They had a really neat cake made in the shape of a “1”. Bobby had a good time digging his face and hands into his own birthday cake. He had so many gifts that he could probably play with a different one each day of the year and never play with the same one twice. It was fun to see a lot of the O’Keefes again. We haven’t seen them since Bob & Barbara’s wedding. I cannot get a good picture of Bobby and Savannah together. One of these days I am going to just pose them, but it seems like one of them is always getting pulled away to go do something. These kids are all so busy. After we got home Grandma Denison gave Savannah a little surprise puppy dog that sings to here and teaches her the ABCs. Thanks Grandma!

What a Day

May might have been a big month, but today was a big day. Daddy went to participate in the Dragon Boat races at Creve Coeur Park with work. They won first place and had 2 of the fastest times. While Daddy was playing with work friends, Mom and Savannah went to visit their good friends Kristin and Addison. Addison and Savannah planned their college years at Mizzou together so they can be roommates just like their mommies were. They also exchanged fashion tips as Savannah really liked Addison’s stylish bows. After the trip to Fenton, Grandma D came over and we all road out to meet Daddy’s Cousins Chuck, Shelli, Amanda and Drew for Drew’s graduation party. Her other cousin Bobby was there too! Bobby's got about 6 months on Savannah, but they will have lots of fun causing mischief at family events and barbeques. By the time we got home this evening, it was lights out for Savannah, and mom and dad won’t be far behind her.
