The Big Day is Here!

BOO! Happy Halloween everyone! What a great night for some trick or treating! Thankfully there is no snow or rain out tonight! Really, can I use any more exclamation points?!?!? Anyway, Savannah had a great day today. Earlier in the week it dawned on me to try on her costume to make sure it fit. Oh what a mistake that was, or really good preparation. Savannah was NOT happy about the monkey costume and let me know! Sooo, we did have a back up plan and she has a cute little Mizzou cheerleader outfit to wear just in case, as I am sure the other costumes in the store were slim pickins by this week. For most of the afternoon today we asked her if she wanted to be a monkey and we received a big NO! So I got the costume out and she bolted to daddy and was determined to not be a monkey this year! Well we had to try and it was a bit of a struggle, but in the end, she really enjoyed being the cutest monkey in the world. And it helped that we told her she had to wear it if she wanted to be outside, and since she LOVES to be outside, it was a no brainer for her at that point. She was very intrigued by the “Scary Pumpkin” and we were able to snap a few pics before heading out to gather the loot. Savannah and Daddy had a great time going to the neighbors for some candy and Halloween fun. She actually did say “trick or treat” to the neighbors and seemed to really have a good time, as she held onto the candy bag the entire time they were out. Once home, it was time to inspect the loot and like every other kid in the world tonight, she ate a good portion of her treats already. She then enjoyed saying boo to the trick or treaters we had after she was done. We are looking forward to the years to come, as Cameron discovered that the husband and wives in the neighborhood take turns taking the kids out and next year is the husband/daddy year. And of course, the parents don’t go out without treats of their own!! Brings back such memories for the both of us! So now we are just heading into another weekend of who knows what and will continue to take things day to day. Happy Halloween everyone!
